Product: LocPower® - patented energy harvesting valve for real-time flow and pressure control and electricity production

LocPower® is an energy harvesting valve designed for real-time flow and pressure control and clean electricity production in water systems. A LocPower® system consists of the control valve (DN 80 – 600), and electrical control panel with inverter and AFE. The Integrated Trim-Turbine acts as an instantaneous pressure regulating element while converting 65-75% (up to 300 kW) of the hydraulic energy typically wasted in flow and pressure control to electricity for local use, storage or grid injection. An Internal Extra Flow Channel allows the system to cope with unexpected overflow/hydraulic shock (up to 50% of projected flow) or turbine malfunctions (e.g. power outage). The valve is remotely controlled and equipped with advanced diagnostic systems to monitor shaft speed and torque and other system parameters to identify and prevent cavitation, early wear or leakage.

 

Unique Selling Point: LocPower® unites control valve and turbine, eliminating the civil works necessary for construction of bypass pipes (necessary in traditional energy recovery systems). LocPower® can be installed as a regular control valve in all points of water supply network (both vertically and horizontally and in hard-to-reach places), wherever a substantial flow and pressure drop exist (min. 15 L/s and 1 bar pressure drop).

Hias How2O develop and market radical solutions for biological waste water treatment. By combining targeted R&D efforts with operational insight, Hias How2O has developed the patented Hias Process for biological nutrient removal. Our technology is developed in real-life environment at the Norwegian utility Hias IKS, where engineers, biologists and operators work alongside to drive the technology even further.

Hias How2O offer feasibility studies of the technology, pilot studies and the full design of a retrofit or greenfield installation.

The Hias Process delivers superior nutrient removal with low OPEX and favourable carbon footprint. The highly sustainable Hias process also eliminates or minimize the use of precipitation chemicals, hence more than 50% of the total phosphorus can be recycled as struvite. Biological phosphorus removal with the Hias Process is demonstrated through several pilot studies and is currently operational in full scale prototype (10 000 PE) at Hias IKS, Norway.

Drylet

Drylet’s technology is a patented biocatalyst that accelerates microbial activity and mass-to-gas conversion in biological processes.

Drylet is the award-winning developer and manufacturer of an advanced biocatalysis particle for delivering microbes. Developed in the United States, the technology reduces biosolids by up to 50% (among other benefits) in municipal wastewater treatment and animal feeding operations primarily.

In 2017, activity in the United States grew by 50%. Today, some 51 municipal installations throughout the U.S. use Drylet’s solution in various operational processes. In China, the company signed a partnership with PPP leader Hoyo Group last November. In Europe, Drylet has built up a pipeline of opportunities that include five of the top ten wastewater treatment companies in the world. The company is also actively engaging in discussions with select plants in the Middle East, Africa and Asia with a collective flow of almost 300 MGD (about 6 million p.e.).

On the industrial wastewater side, Drylet is working on various projects in Europe and the Middle East.

Drylet’s technology is a patented biocatalyst that accelerates microbial activity and mass-to-gas conversion in biological processes. It uses a proprietary technique for loading Class 1 non-GMO microorganisms onto engineered inorganic particles in very high concentrations, making the product exceptionally powerful by weight.
